To plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities in alignment with customer demand, production capacity, and material availability. The Production Planner ensures the efficient and cost-effective execution of production plans while maintaining optimal inventory levels and meeting delivery targets 

Main Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and production capacities.Adjust schedules as needed in response to changes in demand, material shortages, equipment breakdowns, or other disruptions.Monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure deadlines are met.

Material Planning:

Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available for production as required.Monitor stock levels of materials and finished goods, initiating orders as needed to prevent delays in production.Ensure that materials and resources are allocated efficiently to avoid overstocking or understocking.

Capacity Planning:

Assess production capacity to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable, taking into account labor, equipment, and production constraints.Recommend adjustments to staffing or equipment levels based on production needs and forecasts.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with production supervisors, procurement, sales, and other departments to align production schedules with business objectives.Communicate production plans, updates, and changes to relevant stakeholders to ensure coordination across the organization.

Monitoring & Reporting:

Track key production metrics such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and material usage, and report on performance against targets.Prepare and present regular reports on production status, capacity utilization, and inventory levels.

 

 

 

 

Education and Qualifications Required

Education:

Bachelor degree is preferred.

 Working Experience:

Experience in production planning is a must (minimum of 3 years as a guide)Experience in container management is a plus.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP production and PL2P moduleProven experience as a production planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.Good communication and organizational skills; able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation/reporting.Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory management.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
