The Planner leads strategic and tactical activities concerned with the manufacturing of company products. In this role, you will establish and manage forecasts and detailed schedules required to support shipping dates according to customer requirements and business objectives. You will be responsible for managing sales order status and adherence to on-dock dates through all phases of the manufacturing and shipping process. You will also control and track all levels of inventory for the assigned business unit, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Additionally, you will develop, publish, and maintain related production schedules and forecasts while balancing inventory, resources, and capacity.
Responsibilities
+ Review MRP requirements and process applicable action (exception) messages for assigned product family.
+ Analyze available reports to support production schedules and other strategic inventory plans.
+ Generate work order packages as required and ensure timely delivery to appropriate department and/or work-cell.
+ Coordinate cross-functional activities with all internal departments (quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, shipping, contracts, etc.) to ensure alignment on priorities and other business objectives.
+ Attend MRB review meetings as required.
+ Work mandatory overtime as needed to support on-time delivery and sales targets.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of experience as a planner in manufacturing.
+ Ability to write macros.
+ Experience with Excel Pivot Tables and V Lookups.
+ Experience in Master Scheduling production lines and level loading.
+ Understanding of multi-level component builds, with 40-50 parts in one unit.
+ Excellent knowledge of Production Planning and Quality Control principles.
+ Thorough knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with VBA is a plus.
+ Planning and organizational skills.
+ Experience with component assembly.
+ Ability to review and analyze materials requirements.
+ Knowledge of supply chain processes.
+ Experience with production scheduling.
Work Environment
The company is a leading manufacturer of Precision Hydraulic Components for the Aerospace Industry. All disciplines, from conceptualization of design and developmental engineering to state-of-the-art manufacturing under rigid quality control standards, are performed in the facility. The result is a fully integrated operation that produces the highest quality hydraulic components available to the aerospace industry today. The work schedule is from 6am to 2:30pm, and overtime is required to meet deadlines and sales goals. This is a manufacturing environment where the candidate will be walking the floor ensuring production is going as planned. ITAR Compliance is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $38.00
