As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. You will create work orders and schedule their release to designated work centers, perform scheduling of released orders in the shop floor control system, manage work-in-process (WIP), and assist with the physical movement of products throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
+ Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
+ Create work orders and schedule the releases of work orders to designated work centers.
+ Perform scheduling of released orders in the shop floor control system.
+ Manage work-in-process (WIP) and assist with the physical movement of products throughout the entire manufacturing process.
+ Sort and control materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined shop floor plans.
+ Collaborate with purchasing and inventory control to expedite late arriving purchased materials that can affect scheduled product completion and subsequent deliveries.
+ Confer with production management to resolve problems affecting production schedules.
+ Communicate program priorities for outsourced production work.
+ Coordinate the final shipment of products with supervisors, project managers, and shipping/receiving personnel.
+ Advise the Production Control Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager of anticipated problems, material shortages, engineering changes, and equipment failures or major non-conformance of in-process products.
+ Check for planning errors during production and recommend corrective action.
+ Prepare purchase orders to maintain inventories of raw materials and finished products.
+ Evaluate written data, such as job orders, product specifications, operations sheets, parts and materials inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates, to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operation and workflow.

+ Ability to track materials and manage inventory
Work Environment
This position operates in a heavy manufacturing/shop environment. The Production Planner will work both in an office environment utilizing software tools to create schedules and plans, and on the shop floor interfacing with the production supervisor and engineering team leads. The Gas Turbine Assembly Group is projected to double in size within the next two years, offering a stable and in-demand product environment. The role is long-term and is ideal for candidates seeking stability and growth opportunities within a busy and expanding team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $40.86/hr.
