Production Planner & ERP Support
Himalayan Pet Supply is looking for an energetic, passionate individual to serve as its Production Planner & ERP Support.    Starting with a creation by two brothers in 2003, Himalayan created a new category in the pet industry, thus changing the dog chew class significantly. By 2016, we became a leader in the industry as we expanded out into other pet categories, transforming our company from a single product-oriented business to a pet supply company. The Production Planner & ERP Support is responsible for developing the master production schedule to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing all locations with a daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and customer requirements. In addition, this position will provide supply chain & ERP expertise to support Operations, Logistics, and Inventory including: reviewing material variances, purchasing requirements, planning, coordinating, and directing the Company’s materials needs. Strong collaboration with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain will be critical to meeting business goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Schedule for designated products and locations. Utilize the production capacity, customer demands, safety stock requirements, and other supply chain constraints. Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times, staffing constraints, etc. • Utilize the ERP system to streamline and automate the scheduling process and review material variances created from Production Orders through consumption of materials. • Create Production Orders based on the Production schedule. • Work with the operations management to ensure capacities are accurately represented in the system. • Work with operations management to ensure proper balance of service, inventory, and costs on the produced items. • Maintain WIP inventory for designated products at target levels to ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability. • Oversee Inventory perpetual and physical counting process and data entry. • Ensure coordination with operations management to execute Production Plan on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Schedule. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including metrics for production performance to the requested production schedule. • Timely reporting of key metrics. • Maintain regular communication with vendors and assist with the Procurement process as needed. • Maintain Min and Max levels for Raw Materials Purchasing. Coordinate with Domestic and International suppliers for purchase. • Other duties as assigned • Punctual and Regular Attendance Required QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BA/BS in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. 3-5 years working as a Production Scheduler in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in a food manufacturing plant. Experience using MRP / ERP systems. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good ability to read, speak and communicate in English across all levels of the organization. SKILLS: • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing scheduling, demand, and replenishment processes • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with intermediate knowledge of Excel including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc. • Excellent written communication skills • Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines to meet the needs of the business • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
