Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner oversees all aspects of production planning to ensure all customer demand is accurately captured and level-loaded into the ERP system while balancing standard and custom, one-off product manufacturing requirements with efficient use of resources and maintaining on-time delivery performance. The planner collaborates across departments to align sales forecasts, supply chain needs, and operational capabilities to meet business objectives while scaling operations toward best-in-class standards.

What will you do?

Develop and maintain master production schedules, leveraging the ERP/MRP system for accurate capacity planning, production pitch, and cell planning to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency. Monitor and revise schedules in response to changes in order priorities, material availability, and vendor issues, while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Serve as the primary point of communication for production progress, delays, and forecast adjustments, providing clear and timely updates to internal and external stakeholders. Utilize capacity analysis tools to anticipate and address potential bottlenecks, ensuring personnel and equipment are appropriately allocated. Lead recovery scheduling efforts in the event of delays or disruptions, maintaining customer commitments. Plas and coordinate production for a mix of standard, custom, samples, and one-off products, including managing components, hardware, felt, metal assemblies, LED lighting systems, and custom packaging/crating solutions. Maintain, update, and analyze key performance indicators and Gemba boards to drive situational awareness and root cause corrective actions. Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to conduct S&OP meetings and ensure alignment between customer demand and manufacturing capacity. Align long-term production schedules with financial plans, looking 12 months ahead to prepare the organization for demand fluctuations and capacity needs. Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and supports process improvement initiatives, including participation in Kaizen events. Train and mentor team members on production planning processes and tools, fostering a collaborative and adaptable culture. Oversee that planners stay on schedule and release jobs on time. Collaborates with planners to ensure projects reach work centers in a timely manner and are tracked correctly. Manage a small team by providing guidance and a clear path for their success.

 

What will make you successful?

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR 7 years of industry experience in lieu of degree. Minimum 5 years of production planning experience in high-mix, low-volume, customized manufacturing environments. 2+ years Syteline ERP experience 5+ years enterprise ERP experience Initiative-taking and able to work with minimal supervision but also a good collaborator with members of other departments. Must be able to think independently and problem solve day-to-day sales problems. Strong analytical and decision-making skills with experience in capacity and demand planning. Able to learn and understand our full suite of architectural products and systems. Possesses high detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions and balance customer responsiveness with accurate forecasting. Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) Experience managing a small team of planner/scheduler/coordinator roles Spanish language proficiency a plus.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required. Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
