Production Planner Scheduler

Work schedule is Tuesday - Friday, 6am - 4:30pm.

 

Primary Responsiblities:

 

Oversee automated workflow scheduling process.  Analyze exception and change reports to modify the production plan as needed. Work with Supervisors and other necessary personnel to develop and implement the production plan. Create purchase orders for subcontract operations and monitor their progress. Meet with Shop Floor Supervision daily to discuss capacity and production issues. Monitor workflow and communicate the need to expedite parts as needed.

Monitor overdue parts and potential supply issues within the plant and to other Crown production areas.  Work closely with the production planners, purchasing buyer/ planners, production personnel, dock employees and traffic/ logistics to ensure parts arrive quickly to avoid interruptions.  Investigate root cause for shortages. 

Run and monitor machine load and capacity reports.   Review machine capacities with Production Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and supervisors to discuss the production plan.  Monitor machine capacities and make recommendations for when subcontract is needed. 

Manage inventory levels to maximize delivery and minimize risk and cost. Work with production and warehousing to monitor and maintain these levels and adjust levels based on the production schedule.   Plan to manufacture and consume seasonal inventory as needed. Work with department management and warehouse employees to perform and maintain annual cycle counts.  Investigate root cause for cycle count and/ or inventory errors.  

Attend departmental, staff, production, and new product/ EO meetings.  Lead and initiate meetings for continuous supply chain improvements.  Participate and/ or lead in special projects such as line changes, expansions, line and/ or product moves to different facilities.  Other projects as they arise.

 

Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or equivalent required.  A two-year Associate’s degree in Supply Chain and/or a business-related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.  Have a strong understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and be familiar with and able to manage in a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment using software systems, such as SAP.

Per 10 hour shift, sit 7 hours and stand 3 hours.  Both typical and non-typical office environment (Low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations.)  Infrequently lift 41-50 pounds.  Occasionally lift 31-40 pounds.  Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard.  Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs.  Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc).
