MISSION / SUMMARY:

 

The Load Planner is responsible for planning loads for the loading of trucks, containers and railcars in the Finishing and Shipping department.  The Load Planner will utilize the Optivision operating system to view the machine run display and the status of orders producing or produced as well as run a daily inventory report to assist managing rolls in inventory.  The Load Planner will also need to use the SAP operating system for billing, booking and order info and assist with error corrections.  The Load Planner will report to the Senior Logistics Manager and assist the Shipping supervision as needed in daily duties.  Once loads are planned the Load Planner will distribute the loading instructions to the crew members and give guidance in loading as needed.  Areas of responsibility include warehousing, inventory management, loading/shipping rail and truck.

 

Load Plans drive the shipment execution of our product and is an important function to ensuring once rolls are produced, they ship based on the most optimal mode. It is the playbook that dictates how our transportation management team executes outlining production dates, modes, ship origin locations, ship to locations, etc. A key focus of this position is to support the loading of overseas containers from the mill dock by ensuring the booking numbers and container SCAC’s are in each container load plan. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have attention to detail and be safety conscience, following all safety and environmental rules and regulations. The goal of the Finishing and Shipping department is to maintain a sound, and efficient operation to achieve maximum quality production at minimum cost. 

 

 JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

 

The Load Planner is responsible for the following:

Review upcoming production, create and modifying load plans across various modes based on the SOP provided. Collaborate with freight forwarder, transportation team and customer service to ensure load plans support executable plan and material flow. Create load plans to maximize tonnage supporting cost per ton goals while ensuring loading accommodates load diagrams. Responsible for safe work environment, including proactively supporting department and facility leadership in the continuous improvement of safety systems. Assist crew members with questions or issues regarding the loading of vehicles or rolls in inventory. Audit work systems to ensure consistent operation and opportunities for improvements. Increase crew engagement. Direct maintenance tasks to be completed on shift. Effective communication and production planning between departments as well as load planning Machine Run Schedules via Optivision Load Planning system and distribute the planned schedules to the crew members.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in paper manufacturing, warehouse operations, converting, logistics, or related field preferred. Experience with logistics ( domestics/international) preferred. Good communication skills and experience working well with others preferred. Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite High school diploma and 2 to 5 years in manufacturing

 SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

The position will be assigned as a day shift hours position. Off days will include weekends and holiday; however periodic on call coverage will be necessary.  

 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting at a computer desk for extended periods of time reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment. Ability to physically move about a manufacturing environment.

 

Pay Range:   $51,110.00 - $63,840.00
