Job Summary:
The Production Planning Coordinator plays a crucial role in optimizing production processes and ensuring timely delivery to the Production departments. This role involves coordinating production workflow, managing inventory levels, communicating with department supervisors, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
Responsibilities:
Prepare production work files for assembly, including drawings, work orders, and bed tags.Maintain production schedules to meet demand, ensuring optimal use of resources.Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to meet production timelines.Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate scheduling of materials and production runs.Coordinate with the inventory team to track stock levels, order materials, and ensure the availability of resources for production.Monitor inventory to prevent shortages or overstock.Work with production teams to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process. Propose and implement improvements to streamline operations and reduce production lead times.Communicate changes in production schedules or delays.Prepare production reports, analyze performance metrics, and recommend actions to improve productivity.Track and monitor key production indicators (KPIs) such as output rates, lead times, and on-time delivery.Maintain accurate documentation of production schedules, inventory levels, and production reports.Coordinate with Purchasing on materials necessary to support production.Develop and adhere to Standard WorkQualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.Previous experience in production planning, supply chain coordination, or manufacturing.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.General understanding of manufacturing drawings.Previous experience with production planning software such as ERP/WMS systems.General understanding of inventory control processes such as KANBAN/pull system.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles a plus.This job description describes the general nature and level of work expected of a person assigned to this position.
