PRODUCTION QUALITY INSPECTOR

Rate of pay is for 2nd shift to include 10% shift differential. If no longer on 2nd shift pay rate is between $26.50 - $28.00 per hour. 2nd shift hours are 2pm - 10:30 pm. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED. At least three (3) years’ experience working in quality assurance. At least three (3) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. ASQ Certification as a Mechanical Inspector or Quality Technician preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with ISO 9001, process audits. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good organizational skills. Problem-solving / troubleshooting skills. Mechanical knowledge includes the interpretation of drawings related to the confirmation of parts they are associated with. Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and in-house inspections using industry standard tools, equipment and techniques. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write accurate & detailed quality assurance reports. Ability to follow written & verbal instructions. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Keyboarding skills with the ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate audit findings. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. Working Conditions: Encountered on a regular basis as part of the work this job performs. Work is performed on the manufacturing floor, warehouse, and quality assurance area. Some material handling is required when moving accepted material from one area to another. Clear vision at 20 inches or less, ability to identify and distinguish colors, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are required to perform close visual inspections using halo’s, eye loops, microscopes and optical comparator. Use of standard office equipment such as computer, telephone, fax machine/copier. Ability to maintain visual focus on the job at hand despite prolonged visual repetitiveness. BI Incorporated Responsibilities Summary The Production Quality Inspector ensures that products meet the established quality standards and industry standards. They also monitor processes and inspect products and work with production to implement process improvements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Production Quality Inspector performs in-process inspections and tests of production processes. Initiates, monitors, and manages the red tag & non-conformance processes. The Production Quality Inspector performs product inspections and tests. Identifies and resolves workflow and production issues. The Production Quality Inspector discusses production issues and proposes solutions with supervisors. Reviews work instructions to ensure they are current. The Production Quality Inspector identifies gaps in work processes workflow and suggests improvements. Supports production with non-conformances. The Production Quality Inspector monitors and reports quality issues. Maintains nonconforming material through electronic and physical movement. The Production Quality Inspector checks printed circuit board assemblies for soldering, component location, values and workmanship. Lends soldering, assembly and inspection skills to product manufacturing as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
