Primary Responsibilities
Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained for all employees. Active in enforcement of safety rules and regulations. Must be able to quickly identify and correct any safety issue that arises and pass on safety concerns in a timely manner. Ensure crew has all safety equipment needed.
Provide direction to crew concerning work assignments, work to be performed, and production priorities.
Checks frequently with Operators to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner, free of error and that batch tickets are being followed properly.
Making sure the process is being run efficiently and that all procedures and special instructions are being followed. The Supervisor will be held accountable for knowingly allowing procedures and policies to not be followed.
Check Batch Tickets and paperwork to ensure they are being filled out properly and in real time on the floor and in SAP.
Responsible for ensuring accuracy of SAP through Batch Ticket Issuing, Error Checking, and Closing. Brings errors or other variances to area management when necessary for correction.
Monitor the Controls Systems and ensure shift log sheets are being filled out properly and in a timely manner (examples: GCS inspection logs, GMAA system, etc)
Will be aware of all processes underway in the plant and be on the alert for any abnormality. Pro-actively identifies and notifies area management of potential problems or maintenance issues before they arise or as soon as they appear.
Ensure department policies and procedures are being followed. Follow up with the Operators to ensure any new policy or procedure is understood for universal implementation.
Perform ongoing training/coaching of operators. Supervise the training of operators on shift as well as “coach” them as needed to maintain efficient work-flow, equipment usage, safety awareness etc. Maintain the “Operator Training Matrix” to ensure operators are trained properly in unit specific training topics and their training status is kept up to date.
Using the Discipline and Coaching Form for coaching and disciplinary action when necessary.
Proactive in submitting work orders to repair and maintain plant equipment. Ensure work orders are submitted to address any maintenance or safety issues.
Point of contact for maintenance as a safe work permit issuer and in completing equipment isolation to allow safe maintenance of equipment.
Review housekeeping daily, act to correct any deficiencies and ensure Operators are following proper housekeeping practices.
Ensure Operators are completing face to face shift changes utilizing their written Shift Change Report.
Review each Shift Change Report completely at the end of each shift. The status of each vessel and process shall be reported in detail in an overall Supervisor Shift Change Report. Communicate the status of all ongoing work, staged materials, equipment set ups as well as all issues and problems.
Maintain a positive attitude and foster a sense of good will on his or her shift and amongst the shifts.
Working with QA, analytical, Process Engineers and other support functions for the overall efficiency of the department and operations.
Management of timecard system for all assigned employees
Manage the PPA/merit reviews for all assigned employees
Review and coordinate employee replacements within the department.
Minimum Requirements
Supervisory or Lead Operator/Team Leader experience
Ability to read, comprehend and follow procedures and safety rules
Demonstrated attention to detail to including following procedures and documenting process batch information
Must possess strong communication and leadership skills, analytical/problem-solving ability, a sound mechanical aptitude, and strong people skills.
Knowledge of supervisory and management techniques.
Proven history of leading teams
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $67,907 - $84,883.In addition to your salary, H.B.
