Production Specialist 6:00pm -6:00am
Shift: This role is 5th Shift, 6:00 PM-6:00 AM

Hourly Rate: $19.38 an hour + $1.50 shift differential

SCOPE OF POSITION:

This role operates the production and processing equipment to package products. The individual hired for the role must be able to complete a wide range of tasks while also ensuring the work is done safely at all times. This includes meeting quality standards for consumable products and ensuring the production environment works in the manner required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform and become proficient at a wide variety of production jobs done within the facilityDevelop a working knowledge of production schedules; learning to read and follow schedule instructions and become familiar with options available for changesTo manually or automatically assemble cases to meet production requirements/specificationsMonitor auto filled bags or trays for required fill weight, back seal, end seal, label placement, date code and label accuracy to requirements/specificationsSelect acceptable bags/units for hand casing accurately for case count, orientation and placementReport deviations from product requirements to the operators or supervisorsVisually inspect products and ingredients for blemishes or other flaws, extraneous vegetable material or discolored unitsStop production to report any serious deviation in quality or operating parameters, or malfunction of line equipmentMaintain work area by completing housekeeping and janitorial dutiesAssist operators and others with start-up, production, change over and shut down of productionAny other duties assigned by management

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Must be able to communicate in English (writing and speaking) in order to perform all dutiesMust be able to complete basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply and divide)Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 30lbs regularly through the shiftMust be able to walk, stand and bend constantly through the entire shiftMust be able to work 8, 10 or 12 hours in a shift, either day or nightMust be able to work in an environment that averages 40 – 44 degrees FahrenheitMust learn and follow safe working practices (Safety Absolutes)Must learn and follow manufacturing control points and practices (Standard Work)Must learn and follow quality control points and practices (GMP’s/HACCP/FSMA)Must work well with others as a production teamMust have reliable/consistent attendance and attention to dutiesMust work accurately with minimal supervision

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED/equivalent is preferred
