Job Description:

Outside Event Production – Responsible for the management of events outside the building that are utilizing Center resources as assigned by the Assistant Director of Production.  Assists in providing various technical and event staffing services to the University in all areas of campus including, but not limited to, the University Auditorium, the Reitz Union, the president's home, fraternities, sororities, University Band Shell, Florida Field and other University Athletic Association facilities.  Tasks include creation of cost estimates, staffing, coordinating details, supervision of the production, post-event follow-up and billing review for assigned events.

Inside Event Production - Responsible for the management of production details for events as assigned by the Assistant Director of Production including technical details as well as obtaining outsourced needs of a non-technical nature – catering, vehicle rentals, equipment rentals, and specialty item procurement.  Acts as a liaison with clients and contractors to ensure success of events from a production aspect within the Center. Assists and creates as needed AutoCAD files associated with all events and the amendment of these maps to ensure all event details are well coordinated in advance.

Staff Training and Supervision - Conducts technical and safety training classes.  Maintenance and Inventory of tools and equipment.

Research/purchase proper equipment for event production needs.  Responsible for the organization of all the technical equipment storage and work areas.

Other duties as assigned.

 NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Required to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends and holidays.

Work must be performed under relatively high-pressure conditions resulting from the need to ensure client satisfaction while managing a myriad of details under a strict timetable.

Expected Salary:

$49,000- $53,000 Based on Experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of technical and production equipment and sound engineering.  Specialized training in department safety and rigging requirements. Must be currently or willing to become a qualified forklift operator.  Experience in AutoCAD and EMS software preferred.
