O’Connell Center is seeking a Production Manager. This position will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Director of Production with all the technical aspects of the production of live events inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center as well as across campus. This includes the procurement, maintenance, and operation of sound, lighting, electrical and video systems for live events. Inside Event Production: Responsible for the management and execution of production details for events as assigned by the Assistant Director of Production. This includes technical details (sound, lights, video, and power requirements) as well as obtaining outsourced needs of a non-technical nature – catering, vehicle rentals, equipment rentals, and specialty item procurement. This position also acts as a liaison with clients and contractors to ensure success of events from a production aspect within the Center. This position is also responsible for assisting and creating AutoCAD files associated with all events and the amendment of these maps to ensure all event details are well coordinated in advance. Outside Event Production: Responsible for the management of events outside the building that are utilizing Center resources as assigned by the Assistant Director of Production. Assists in providing various technical and event staffing services to the University in all areas of campus including, but not limited to, the University Auditorium, the Reitz Union, the president's home, fraternities, sororities, University Band Shell, Florida Field and other University Athletic Association facilities. Tasks include creation of cost estimates, staffing, coordinating details, supervision of the production, post-event follow-up and billing review for assigned events. Other: Other responsibilities include conducting technical and safety training classes, maintaining and keeping inventory of tools and equipment, researching/purchasing proper equipment for event production needs, organizing all technical equipment storage and work areas, and other duties as assigned. NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Required to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends and holidays. Work must be performed under relatively high-pressure conditions resulting from the need to ensure client satisfaction while managing a myriad of details under a strict timetable. A criminal background will be conducted. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of technical and production equipment and sound engineering. Specialized training in department safety and rigging requirements. Must be currently or willing to become a qualified forklift operator. Experience in AutoCAD and EMS software preferred.
