As a Production Supervisor you will support the day-to-day operation of the plant, providing technical leadership in executing the required production plan. You will provide strong leadership in the areas of safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies. You will be instrumental in leading troubleshooting efforts when problems arise as well as identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
This role requires the ability to work 12-hour rotating day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and any necessary overtime and the ability to work outside in various weather conditions and performing physical activities such as bending, stooping, lifting up to 50lbs. on occasion, climbing ladders, and working at various heights.

+ Serving as a role model, championing risk reduction activities for employees by setting a Zero Incident & a Zero Loss of Containment mindset; performing safety engagements on daily activities, ensuring compliance on site rules, setting high standards for housekeeping.
+ Accountability for all manufacturing functions; leading & coaching team leaders, ensuring daily direction for efficient and accurate operator work.
+ Completing Hazwoper training and Incident Commander Training; serving as an Incident Commander during an emergency response.
+ Touring areas to ensure safe operations, completing safety contacts weekly; ensuring adherence to safety procedures and providing oversight housekeeping of production area.
+ Ensuring reporting and communication on AIMs and actions items are complete. Responsible for Management of Change sign offs and other developmental training (Legal Compliance, Computer Based Training, etc.) are completed.
+ Troubleshooting process issues and reporting findings through morning meetings, emails, shift notes from operators & engineer trials. Responsible to overlap with the night shift to have status information on process issues.
+ Overseeing employee training ensuring guidelines of the site competency training program are met.
+ Coaching crew members to achieve performance goals and completing mid -year documented status and action step plans.
+ Ensuring all paperwork is accurate (timecard, expense reports, SAP transactions, batch tickets, monthly and weekly inspections); providing coverage for team members.
+ Enforcing all governmental, corporate, and/or site safety and environmental rules; ensuring process safety requirements are met by completing training and ensuring compliance with operations procedures.
+ Touring area to ensure efficient operation; ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources by inspections and adherence to good manufacturing practices.
+ Implementing and supervising Polyol’s and VAC graft polymerization RCRA compliance program including Proper storage, including labeling/marking, inspecting, and ensuring <90-day accumulation; Proper packaging and labeling.
+ Completing required training to become class B underground storage tank operator.
**If you have...**
+ A High School education, or equivalent; preferably an associate’s degree.
+ Knowledge of the proper methods of handling corrosive, flammable and explosive materialsand knowledge of quality control procedures.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with chemical processing equipment.
+ Experience in process hazard analysis, management of change, root cause analysis, and incident investigations.
