**Production Supervisor, Surfacing and Paint**
**Summary of Position**
Under direct leadership, the Production Supervisor is responsible for managing an assigned production team in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.” This is a dynamic position that requires the ability to manage a production schedule while driving improvements in all areas with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Part of your role is to harbor a safe and welcoming team environment with clear goals and expectations. You are expected to set an example with your attitude, attention to detail, listening, mentoring, and communication.
**Essential Duties**
+ Ensures all team members are trained on operational procedures and that the team works efficiently and effectively to meet established goals
+ Monitors the individual performance and behavior of assigned team members to ensure adherence with Company/departmental policies, processes, and procedures
+ Uses metrics and makes recommendations to managers on ways to drive continuous improvement activities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
+ Serves as a role model and facilitates effective communication throughout the team
+ Evaluates the work of assigned staff, provides feedback, and coaches and disciplines employees as needed to be sure that their performance meets job expectations
+ Works with the Production Manager to prioritize staffing/resource assignments ensuring capacity for equipment and labor is planned and available to meet demand
+ Communicates approved schedules to team members, approves vacation requests (so that production needs are met), and approves timecards in a timely manner to assure that submitted time is accurate
+ Coordinates and agrees on weekly goals with management in alignment with business demands ensuring all areas of responsibility to be deliver on expectations; follows up directly with production manager when there are plan deviations/delays
+ Provides technical expertise for complex issues and ensures effective and efficient production flow
+ Accurately reports end of day production status for each vehicle build and associated parts
+ Ensures that the workplace is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity (5S activities)
+ Ensures that work materials and tools are present when needed and communicates with relevant parties on re-stocking in advance of shortage to reduce delays in production
+ Evaluates, maintains, and coordinates equipment to uphold a safe environment and ensures consistent “right first time” quality of product; immediately reports problems or concerns regarding quality, processes, equipment and/or materials
+ Works closely with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve processes and resolve issues
+ Supports other functions and departments as required based on operational need
+ Performs all other duties as assigned
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Six (6) or more years of supervisor or management experience
+ Experience in an automotive production and/or manufacturing environment within a paint department
**Skills/Abilities and Attributes**
+ Skilled experience reading and interpreting part and assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.
+ Experience with making, restoring, and/or creating custom automotive parts
+ Experience with reading work/manufacturing orders
+ Experience in reading production schedules
+ Basic understanding of Lean Principles, 5S organization principles
+ Experience with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
+ Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
+ Highly motivated with strong work ethic that works well independently
+ Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can effectively communicate with other teams and departments
+ Strong competency to independently apply technical judgement, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of technical problems
+ Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
+ Possesses leadership skills
+ Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
**Compensation**
The starting salary range for this position is between **$85,020 - $106,400** per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
