This position will directly supervise the production department employees who assemble complete units, or subassemblies using hand tools and /or light power tools and equipment.

Responsible for the supervision and control of the process plant according to the timetable set during the production shift assigned. It monitors the preparation and movement of raw materials and product quality. Coordinates personnel in charge.

Job Requirements:

Supervise employees who setup and/or operate assembly and packaging machinesMaximize efficiency of each production employee while maintaining exceptional quality, productivity and production schedulesContinuously maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environmentProvide leadership abilities in preventing accidents by emphasizing the importance of safety and good work practicesEnsures that production assembly schedules are efficiently communicated, measured and adhered to throughout the shiftReview all relevant paperwork during changeovers to ensure accuracy and completionIdentifies and initiates actions to improve production processes and methods on a continuous basisResponsible for maximizing workforce flexibility by cross-training personnel as needed to assure availability of resources to complete work schedules efficientlyEncourages input from supervised personnel to lower costs, improve quality, simplify work, and reduce scrap and reworkResponsible for ensuring adequate departmental staffingEnact disciplinary measures of employees under supervisionOther activities as requested by management

Technical Skill Requirements:

5+ years in a similar roleAbility to work independently and with others to initiate activities and resolve conflictsMust possess excellent communication skillsAbility to interview potential new production employeesAbility to interface with various levels of management and production personnelKnowledge of “lean” production techniques and team buildingWorking knowledge of computer programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, etc.)Ability to multi-task and adapt to a constantly changing environment

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree or two year technical degree or related experience
