Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee a safe work environmentCheck production results (pitch) and report results through Daily ManagementConduct daily meetings with Team Leader’sParticipate in Value Stream daily meetingConfirm routine quality checksAudit for adherence to Team Member Standard WorkCheck adherence to Team Leader Standard WorkHelp cover Team Leader absencePerform Leader Standard Work tasksAdministrative: policy, attendance, corrective action, disciplinary actionOversee manpower/vacation schedulingAssist with monthly production planningAssure good coordination between shiftsLead process trials (for changes in process)Maintain and improve team moraleOversee with Team Member development and cross-trainingManage cost reduction activitiesShepherd process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.Coordinate with maintenance department for maintenance activitiesAssure necessary support from outside groups is availableCoordinate linkages to upstream and downstream processes

Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of responsibilities in roles, policies, agreements, regulations, safety rules, schedules, interdepartmental relationshipsKnowledge of work in products or services provided, standards, technical skills, materials, tools, equipment, works standards and work methodsSkilled in leading with ability to motivate, empower, develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships as well as resolve conflict fairly and proactivelyAbility to anticipate and proactively address changes in output, attitudes and relationshipsAbility to recognize improvement potential, make an improvement plan, follow through, monitor results, and learn from outcome.Proficiency to make small, incremental, daily improvementsSkilled in teaching with ability to develop well-trained work force, transfer knowledge, and create experiential learning opportunities

Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree preferred but not requiredMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment requiredMinimum 2-3 years previous experience leading teams required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to traverse the production facility.Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
