Summary/Objective: The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising production team members in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Work to continuously improve in all areas. Working Conditions: Primarily working indoors, in a manufacturing factory environment. May sit for several hours at a time. Prolonged exposure to computer screens. Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers. Occasional hand tool use for training or helping TM’s understand their job better. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production environment with progressive leadership experience Essential Functions: Daily manages the staffing of your assigned production department by tracking attendance and timekeeping. Reviews the master production plan and schedules work accordingly. Follow-through on the daily plan is expected. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to your manager. Show leadership by going and seeing issues on the floor, coaching your team members, and following through to ensure issues are resolved. Builds a culture of stop-call-wait when non-standard conditions arise. Investigates quality problem reports and provides countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence. Ensures safety policies are followed at all times and helps complete safety investigations as needed. Maintains proper inventory levels of all machine and PPE consumables. Manages your department’s priorities as assigned. Consults with HR and leadership on team member disciplinary actions as required. Competencies: Leadership. Performance Management. Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all team members of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the team members within that department. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes: Coating suit, Coating Boots, Spray Socks, Respirator, Work Gloves, Safety Glasses and Ear Plugs. Team members may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, night shift role in our Shiner, TX plant, with standard hours of 6PM – 4:30AM. Daily overtime and weekend support is required as business needs dictate. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Preferred Education and Experience: Associate’s degree. 5 years of experience in a production environment. Previous supervisor experience Manufacturing/industry experience.
