Based in our ORANGE, VA location, you will plan and direct production activities to achieve manufacturing targets as set by the production control department to support on-time delivery to customers. This role directly manages hourly production employees and promotes safety awareness while supervising and motivating employees to achieve high levels of efficiency. This will require that you lead all manufacturing activities of your department and shift and coordinate the support from other departments (maintenance, tool room, QA and stockroom), as required.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Plan and schedule workflow in accordance with production control to support on-time delivery to customers (measured by fill rate) and quality products. Organize and assign employees to support the production plan. Work with the materials department to determine the availability of parts, purchased items, etc., feeding back info. on parts shortages and coordinating cycle counting, as required. Ensure good training takes place with all employees to promote safety, quality, and efficiency. Promote safety awareness and a safe working environment. Promote 5S in the workplace, including leading improvement projects, mentoring employees, and training employees. Promote and support ISO system compliance. Promote excellent inter shift communications at all employee levels. Be involved in hiring and selecting/interviewing potential new employees. Review employees’ jobs and time cards and track attendance and timeliness. Consistently administer policies and procedures, taking corrective action as required. Coordinate with support departments, including the quality assurance, toolroom, maintenance, and materials department, as required, to have a safe, high quality, and productive workplace. Requisition or request tooling, equipment, and supplies vital for smooth production flow. Be available to work overtime, including at least two Saturdays per month when vital. Showcase excellent attendance and the ability to work different shifts. Function in a team environment with other production and support departments.Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in a production supervisory position Familiar with Excel, word processing, and MRP softwarePhysical Requirements:
Works in factory environment. Occasionally lifts up to 35 pounds and may stand up to 75% of the shift Required to wear safety glasses, safety shoes and gloves.
