Coordinates the operations of all production departments in the unit. Ensures that production meets the goals of product quality, cost effectiveness, safe conditions, and customer satisfaction. Reports issues regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel problems.

Primary Responsibilities

Comply with all Uni-Form Components health, safety and environmental policy and procedures.Coordinate department work flow to meet delivery schedules.Direct and coordinate the work activity of up to _20_ hourly employees.Coordinate work activity with other production and support areas to maintain production schedulesMaintain established budgetary restraints regarding direct labor efficiency and indirect labor costs.Monitors manufacturing procedures and inspects product to insure that a high level of quality is being maintained.Actively implements and trains employees in accordance with the Company’s safety, industrial hygiene and environmental policies and programs and enforces compliance with published work rules.Participate in and actively supports quality projects and activities to ensure that the Company achieves its goals.Complete necessary paperwork, including production reports, accident reports, and disciplinary notices while enforcing company policies and safety requirements.  Oversee department scheduled hours along with attendance and punctuality.Comply with the company housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly work station. Must meet all company quality standards.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Willingness to perform task in a fully competent manner.Minimum 5 years experience in a  steel manufacturing environment with experience in welding,  burning, bending, rolling, and hot/cold formingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent leadership skillsAbility to communicate effectively to the employees with a focus on safety, cost, quality and on-time delivery.Able to read and understand blue prints, drawings, and job cards.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of a manufacturing facility.Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate a lift truck. Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate an Overhead Crane.Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.Basic reading, writing and mathematics skills.Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.Must have excellent attendance and punctualityHigh school diploma or equivalent.Spanish speaking a plus.  

Working Conditions

Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.Able to push, lift and pull weights up to but not to exceed 50 pounds.Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.  Lifting devices are available and recommended.Able to exceed a 40 hour work week.Must wear proper PPE as required.
