Job DescriptionAtlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Production Supervisor for our facility located in Plymouth, MI. Reporting to the Plant Manager. The production supervisor is responsible for overseeing production and assisting shipping in ensuring that Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality standards are achieved and maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and provide technical expertise as required to the Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality DepartmentsEnsure all employees are trained to perform their respective jobs, including the purpose of the safety features of their specific machine, workstation controls, and tools and equipmentReview daily operating reports for compliance and communicate operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to superiors to prevent operational delaysPrepare a variety of reports and other information for senior managementWork safely and enforce the workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. & MIOSHAReview daily operating reports and report operational, manufacturing, maintenance issues and shift events to the plant manager to prevent operational delaysTroubleshoot operational and tooling problems to improve quality and efficiencyBuild and maintain a positive team-oriented environment amongst and between Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality personnelEvaluate employee performance objectively based on the job requirements and behavioral indicators of performanceDiscipline Mill, Shipping, Quality, and Slitter personnel in coordination with plant management and Human ResourcesObtain immediate medical treatment for all injured employeesNotify appropriate management and enter required events (accidents, injuries, incidents) into Incident Management Software.Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-Secondary Education, Technical Diploma, GED or Highschool DiplomaComputer skills for reporting purposesDemonstrated Communication skillsRegular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function ofthis roleLead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company
policyAbility to work Rotating shifts 1st and 3rd every four weeks.3+ years Supervisory Experience, plus 5+ years total in the manufacturing industry
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Plant – Work with Safety Manager to tailor requirements for each role, as needed.Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support overtime without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual
dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hoursRegular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of
this roleAbility to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.Must be able to lift 60lbs.Must be able to stand for 10-12 hoursAbility to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environmentOther physical requirements as needed for the job
