Our Morehead City Sales Terminal in Morehead City, NC is looking for a Production Supervisor. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.
What you’ll get to doSupervise Terminal Operations ensuring quality service to customers, maintaining reliability of equipment, and maximizing use of labor to optimize operational efficiencyManagement and leadership of company’s employees, policies, and proceduresContribute on other projects and topics as a member of the Management TeamMaintain files and create reports for plant equipment, sales, and inventoryCoordinate terminal labor maintenance work force (scheduling and tracking maintenance, reviewing contract labor payroll documents) and monitor other measuresOversight of Third Party carriers at the locationManage, maintain, and ensure adherence to applicable legislation, regulations, permits and environmental health and safety policies and programsPurchase terminal equipment and ensure supplies needed to maintain operationsAssist with development of operating and capital budgetsManage contractors hired to assist with on-site maintenance by monitoring daily progress and quality of work, ensure issues are effectively resolved, and building strong working knowledge of equipment and operations
Essential Experience and SkillsAt least 5 years materials handling or shipping experiencePrevious supervisory experienceKnowledge of federal and state laws and OSHA safety & environmental legislation and regulationsDemonstrated leadership abilitiesExcellent communication skills and the proven ability to skillfully interact with customers, contractors, and all levels of company personnelProficient in Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated mechanical trouble shooting and equipment maintenance skillsMotivation, ability, and willingness to work hours required by the needs of the business, which may require flexibility, some weekends, nights, or perhaps holidaysContinuous Improvement mindset
Work EnvironmentRole operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
