Production Supervisor
SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of the manufacturing department. Closely monitors all production operations and makes immediate adjustments to improve performance. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: + Actively promote and drive a culture of safety. + Customer On-Time Deliveries. + Customer Quality. + Reduction of Financial Variances. These accountabilities will be measured by the following : + Safety/Near Miss Reporting. + Productivity. + Quality. + Work Instruction Adherence. + Continuous Improvement/5S Implementation/Kaizen Events. + Teambuilding. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + The Production Supervisor is responsible for Plant-Wide activities on their assigned Shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. + Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. + Develops and maintains a cross functional team to facilitate all production, material handling, and inspection needs throughout the shift. Qualifications EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs and rate charts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Be detail oriented and accurate in all work performed. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and five to seven years experience in manufacturing environment. Extensive experience may substitute for education. Supervisory experience a must. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. While performing particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne to high.
