IKO South Inc., located in Clay Hill, Florida is a market leader in the manufacturing of roofing and building materials. IKO is a Canadian owned and operated business with production facilities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team of skilled professionals. This role reports to the Production Manager. The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate all aspects of safety, quality, production, and personnel on the shift, ensuring that production targets and deadlines are achieved safely, and that key performance indicators are met while maintaining compliance at all levels.
Responsibilities:
Ensure employees perform work in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with regulatory and company policies.Manage the on-going development, performance, and day-to-day supervision of assigned shift personnel in order to maintain quality standards and increase production levelsPlan and manage scheduling for production teamProvide manufacturing leadership, including discipline and performance management of employees as necessaryImprove existing processes through the application of lean tools and techniques and the upkeep of all department documentationIdentify training and development needs and personal growth opportunities for employees, coaching and motivating individuals to achieve resultsConduct training, cross training and rotation of employees for product, process and employee development Ensure employees are trained on procedures relating to safety, production, and qualityEnsure adherence to company and OSHA safety regulations, conduct safety work inspections as requiredConducts weekly crew meetings for communication of safety, quality and production changes and goalsEvaluates team members’ performance and progress toward individual skill improvementsDevelop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productOperate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality procedures Identify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner, assist in the resolution of quality production problems Investigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, accidents and hazards identificationAssures that a clean and safe working environment is maintained at all timesWork closely with other production supervisors to ensure consistency Perform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements
Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management preferred.Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, Supervisory experience specifically in a high-speed, continuous process manufacturing environment is an asset.Experience utilizing advanced tools and methods for continuous improvement such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Manufacturing, and Six SigmaStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environmentStrong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employeesExcellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skillsProven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skillsProficient in MS OfficeKnowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an assetBenefits of Employment: IKO recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
