Production Supervisor
**Job Title: Production Supervisor** **Job Description** The Shift Leader is primarily responsible for leading the production team of operators and technicians in the safe, quality, and efficient manufacturing of railroad ties. This role requires operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all equipment and processes used in manufacturing, including feedstock batching, extrusion, molding, extraction, quality control, and inventory management. The Shift Leader ensures that operators and technicians operate equipment within designated limits, perform preventive maintenance, and clean work areas every shift. The Shift Leader reports to the Plant Manager and collaborates with the Chief Engineer to ensure the highest quality ties are produced. **Responsibilities** + Lead the production team of operators and technicians in safe, quality, and efficient manufacturing of railroad ties. + Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain all equipment and processes used in manufacturing. + Ensure operators and technicians operate equipment within designated operating limits. + Perform preventive maintenance and clean work areas every shift. + Ensure key operating metrics and operations logs are maintained for each process. + Ensure shift inspections and preventive maintenance are performed for all processes. + Ensure shift cleanup of production and rest areas is performed. + Immediately communicate with Plant Manager when issues with the production processes are beyond the capability of the operator and/or Shift Leader to resolve, or when production is impacted. + Operate material handling equipment when necessary – skid steer, forklift, large loader. **Essential Skills** + Extremely reliable individual with a high sense of leadership and urgency. + Understanding, observing, and enforcing OSHA safety standards applicable to production operations and equipment maintenance. + High technical proficiency with all facets of the production process. + Ability to operate the production plant independently of higher-level management for an entire shift. + Coaching production team on continuous improvement for equipment operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective actions. + Meeting hourly or daily production targets for each manufacturing process. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Production supervision experience. + Production management skills. + Continuous improvement and process improvement expertise. + Management skills and Six Sigma knowledge. **Why Work Here?** This company is set to double its production numbers in the next year and has a five-year plan to grow tenfold. The role involves managing non-union employees and follows a Dupont Shift schedule, which is 4 days on and 4 days off, with hours from 6am to 6pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00 They can grow from within.
