**Job Title: Production Supervisor**
**Job Description**
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing shop floor. This includes supervising employees, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, managing equipment, and promoting a safe working environment by assigning tasks, training staff, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with other departments to maintain efficient workflow. This position is a full-time role reporting directly to the Production Manager.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assign work orders and tasks to shop floor employees based on their skills and workload.
+ Provide on-the-job training and coaching to staff on proper techniques and safety procedures.
+ Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
+ Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
+ Ensure production schedules are met by monitoring progress and addressing delays.
+ Optimize workflow and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
+ Monitor quality control standards and identify any defects or non-conforming products.
+ Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
+ Oversee the proper maintenance and calibration of shop floor machinery and equipment.
+ Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and repairs.
+ Ensure proper use and safety procedures are followed when operating machinery.
+ Enforce all safety regulations and procedures on the shop floor.
+ Investigate safety incidents and implement preventative measures.
+ Regularly report production status, quality issues, and any operational challenges to management.
+ Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or related industry.
+ Lead operator or supervisor in a manufacturing environment preferred.
+ Basic CNC operation preferred.
+ Overhead crane and forklift operator preferred.

**Work Environment**
Shift: 1st, M-F 6am to 4pm, with potential for overtime (approximately 50 hours per week). The plant operates on three-tiered 1st shifts. The environment includes some glass fragments on the ground at times, but overall the facility is clean. The team is laid back, and the candidate will have their own station to assemble products independently. The company’s corporate office is in Kansas. The candidate will oversee 25-35 people in the glass department and have 4-5 leaders reporting directly to them. Dress code: steel-toed boots, jeans, long sleeves or t-shirt.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DES MOINES, Iowa.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
