Production Supervisor
**Job Title: Production Supervisor** **Job Description** The Production Supervisor provides strong leadership and presence on the shop floor to ensure all required employees, machines, and materials are in place for successful production. All production leads report directly to the Team Leader and all production employees report to the Team Leader for scheduling, time card, and disciplinary discussions. **Responsibilities** + Support leads in ensuring all tooling, machines, documents, and PPE are available when needed. + Be prepared to step in for a lead due to absenteeism or vacation as needed. + Ensure required raw materials are available for production in all areas. + Ensure finished goods are available in the shipping area when scheduled. + Ensure processes that cross boundaries between lead areas are followed strictly (WIP, paperwork, etc.). + Follow HR standards (time clock, disciplinary actions, etc.). + Collate data provided by leads for all KPIs (quality, production output, etc.). + Lead meetings with leads prior to shift meetings (LPMS Loop 2). + Generate KPI reports for leads to review with their teams during shift meetings. + React quickly when leads escalate a problem. + Escalate issues to the Production Manager when problems cannot be solved. + Coach leads and work alongside them to identify and eliminate waste in processes. + Find better ways to visualize and follow standards pertinent to the role of the supervisor and lead. + Use simple problem-solving techniques to find root causes of problems and solve them with the team. + Use 5S to improve productivity and reduce process variation. + Work with leads and other supervisors to optimize cross-plant flows of people and materials. + Train leads on their duties and coach them to develop leadership skills. + Engage with leads and team members, showing appreciation for their efforts to improve themselves, their areas, and the company. **Essential Skills** + Supervision + Production supervision + Continuous improvement + Supervisory skills + Process improvement + Root cause analysis + Lean manufacturing **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Production supervision + Process improvement + Training development **Why Work Here?** Our All employees will receive a $1 increase at their conversion to full time status. Company paid uniforms Safety shoe voucher/glass voucher after probationary period is complete. **Work Environment** This position is based in a manufacturing environment, specifically on the 2nd shift. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
