The role:

The supervisor is expected to have main focus on planning, prioritization and reporting upon daily operationsTo secure the best possible utilization of the available resources in a way that plans, quality demands and budgets are kept within BUID's targets and policies.The supervisor is the team leader for operators and coordinators in assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that production targets are met on time, with right quality and in a safe work environment.Effective prioritization of resources and machines in collaboration with the Production Manager and Resource Coordinator on the shift.Sets and motivates team for optimal performance and collaboration including hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other personnel related matters.Secure that operators are properly trained in the machine-/process groups according to wanted flexibility.Establishes cross training needs to ensure there are coverage for regular absenteeism, vacations and overtime needs.Performs vacation planning with resource coordinators.Ensures staffing of team to agreed staffing model and strives to secure low absence in team.Follow up on absence/sickness.Conduct 1-1 meetings and clarify employee development in collaboration with the Production Manager.Ensure timely registrations and approvals in ProMark.Ensures compliance with all standards and policies as specified by Convatec's QMS system and the accreditation bodies for the purposes of regulation and accreditation.Compliance with KPIs and production plan for own shift in collaboration with the Production Manager.Collaborate with other departments in the organization in a respectful manner to meet operational goals.Ensure adequate SAP competencies in team.Continuously strives to achieve streamlined and smooth production processes.Identifies opportunities for improvement and suggest these as ideas to production management and support functions. Continuous improvements should be the guiding principle.Support handling of NC’s and CAPA’s related to the production.Secures that 5S standards are adhered to.To ensure a safe work environment and ensure that quality standard (GMP, and GDP) for medical devices is followed.

Authority (if applicable):

Personnel responsibilityRecruitment of operators in cooperation per agreed staffing plan. In cooperation with personnel support manager.Time attendance approvals and overtime approvals.Disciplinary actions

Skills & Experience:

Experience from the production of medical devicesExperience with managing employees in a production (desirable)Experience with Lean Six Sigma (desirable)Experience with planning (desirable)Experience with general KPIs, OEEExperience with continuous improvements (would be an advantage).

Qualifications/Education:

At least 5 years’ experience with people management in production environment. Medical device, pharma or life science industry experience is an advantage. 

Working Conditions (Applicable local workplace laws and statutes should be included in the description of working conditions)

Job requires onsite presence. The majority of the time the position is expected to be on the shop floor in controlled environments and clean rooms.
