Production Supervisor

Job Description: Job Title: Production Supervisor FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function: Partners with Production Manager in managing overall daily center operations and directs labor with a strong focus on safety. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Responsible for maintaining equipment and the cleanliness of the facility. Core Competencies + Partnerships + Growth mindset + Results oriented + Customer focused + Professionalism Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: TBD Positions that Report to you: TBD Primary Duties and Responsibilities: + Assists with production plans and operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. + Assists Schedules employees appropriately to meet production operations while minimizing labor hours and overtime. + Assists with the delegation of tasks to employees appropriately to meet production operations goals while minimizing labor hours and overtime. + Liaison between the production manager and the production team. + Collaborate with maintenance department to develop and execute plans to improve productivity. + Partners with Q.C. assuring all monitoring and verification activities are performed and turned in a timely matter. + Provides food safety, and on-the-job training for all employees. + Required to complying with GMP’s, maintaining proper sanitation and housekeeping in all areas. + Required use of safety equipment and complying with proper safety procedures. + Maintains good communication with other departments within Hy-Vee Produce Commissary. + Send out reports as needed to required personnel. + Adheres to company policies and individual center guidelines. + Complete necessary production and shift paperwork + Ensure compliance to plant policies and Federal and State regulations including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF standards. + Follows all food safety procedures. + Assist in all set up and clean up responsibilities. + Reports to work when scheduled and on time. + Performs other job related duties and special projects as required. + Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: + Must have the ability to use logical or scientific thinking to solve problems and with several abstract and concrete variables. Education and Experience: High School or equivalent experience. Zero to one year of similar or related experience. Physical Requirements: + Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day. + Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions: This is a fast paced work environment and will require some pressure to meet deadlines. This position involve exposure to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards (pallet jack), cleaning chemicals/solvents and electrical shock. Equipment Used to Perform Job: Box cutter, knives, trash compactor, cardboard compactor, computer, calculator, telephone, and department power equipment.
