Production Supervisor
**Job Title:** Production Supervisor **Job Summary** The Production Supervisor leads a team of hourly employees in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring that work is efficiently planned, assigned, and executed in line with established policies and procedures. This role is instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency by improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness, while also fostering the development of team members’ skills. In collaboration with the Shift Superintendent, the Production Supervisor drives improvements in production processes, standard operating procedures, quality control, employee relations, and performance management. **Key Responsibilities** + **Safety and Compliance:** + Conduct daily floor inspections to identify unsafe conditions or practices and implement immediate corrective actions. + Perform routine safety and environmental audits; champion ergonomic and safety initiatives to achieve plant safety goals. + Ensure compliance with HACCP and USDA regulations, taking prompt corrective measures when necessary. + **Quality Assurance:** + Uphold product quality standards and safety measures by ensuring all team members understand and adhere to the Food Safety and Food Quality plans. + Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product specifications and equipment operations to effectively guide the production team. + **Team Leadership and Training:** + Provide ongoing training on safe operating procedures, including lock-out and tag-out protocols. + Facilitate daily production floor walkthroughs and monthly line meetings to address questions, discuss concerns, and drive continuous improvement. + **Operational Excellence:** + Monitor production yields and efficiencies, collaborating with Operations Managers and other supervisors to identify variances and troubleshoot issues. + Recommend workflow and equipment enhancements to minimize downtime and reduce product costs. + Analyze key performance indicators to identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities. + **Additional Duties:** + Execute other related tasks as assigned to support the overall objectives of the manufacturing operation. **Qualifications** + **Education:** + Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field such as Business Management, Agribusiness, or Science is preferred. + **Experience:** + A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role, with a strong preference for candidates with food industry experience.
