Responsibilities

PURPOSE:       

The Production Supervisor is a frontline leadership position that is responsible for supervising production line operations and personnel in accordance with plant policies and procedures.  

 

FRONTLINE LEADER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible. Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

 

BERRY GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Follow all Berry safety and environmental policies and proceduresFollow OSHA rules and regulationsMonitor quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patternsCommunicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the PlantAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygiene Willing and able to work overtime when neededIdentify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnelEffectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of othersFollow all Department Procedures and Directives

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Provide supervision, motivation and work direction to operator, material handler, mechanics and leads in the injection departmentAssist in staffing and maintaining a fully qualified and efficient team to meet production standardsAssign work and provide technical assistance to meet production schedule and inventory requirements Perform daily reviews/analysis to determine status against production goalsAbility to lead teams and committees and special projects as requiredDaily reporting of downtime, efficiency and production scrap Minimize scrap and maximize efficiency on each shiftPrepare for and monitor product changeovers, verify line clearances. Pack bottles to support packers at breaks/lunchesEnsure completion of daily and weekly preventive maintenance on shiftResponsible for identifying and reacting to various sounds and alarmsProvide appropriate and timely feedback on performanceAll other duties as assigned Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma/GED or three years of experience as a production supervisor or two years as a Berry Production Team LeaderMust be able to pass a background check and drug testMust be able to monitor quality of machine output Capable of lifting (up to 35 pounds). Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives. Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner. Must have written and verbal communication skills
