Position Summary: \n

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations on the production floor and acting as a liaison between the Production and Operations team. The Production Supervisor must be adept at balancing quality and productivity while maintaining a positive attitude and modeling RPI's values. They are also accountable for ensuring that established procedures are being followed and the performance of their area meets expectations.\n

Core Responsibilities: \n\nEffective communication across different levels of the organization \nEnsures production targets are met: \n\nManages Service Level Agreements (SLAs)\nManages the reprint rate\nOversees labor management\n\n\nProvides training as needed\nEnsures that maintenance and quality procedures are followed \nProvides regular reporting of results and status \nBalances staff to necessary cells so that all employees are equally busy \nProvides a safe workplace and escalates unsafe conditions \nWorks productively with other shifts and departments \nCoaches and mentors production leads and holds them accountable; provides both positive and corrective feedback to employees \nEstablishes fair and equal accountability for all employees regarding attendance, expectations, process and policy \nSpeaks tactfully and gives clear expectations and direction to the team \nAlways maintains a professional attitude with the team \nAssesses performance daily and conducts performance reviews\nInforms management of production issues and workflow improvement suggestions \nFlexible and able at to adjust working hours as needed (potentially including the need to work additional hours on short notice) \nVerifies timecards ensuring PTO and absences are recorded and hours are accurate \nOther duties as required \n\n

Requirements: \n\nMinimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role in a light manufacturing environment \nHigh School Diploma or GED\nExposure to Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies \nExcellent communication skills - written and verbal \nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook for email communication\nPrior print bindery experience is a plus\n\n

Physical Requirements: \n\nAbility to stand for long periods of time\nWork in a moderately loud environment \nAbility to twist, turn, bend several times per shift\nSharp vision requirements for color details \n\n

The successful candidate will be expected to: \n\nHave strong self-management skills and the ability to make independent decisions\nAct in a professional manner at all times\nPrioritize work activities and focus on quality\nTrain and cross-train all RPI employees in different departments, functions and on machines\nAlert management of any deviations from plans and offer recommendations for resolution\nMaintain high standards of housekeeping and set up following shift for success\nSupport management directives and strive to improve results\nEnsure that procedures are changed through a visible process of discussion and improvement\nCommunicate tactfully and professionally when addressing difficult subjects with employees (i.e. pace, training, quality concerns, attendance and policies, etc.)\nLead by example and exhibit positive leadership. \n\n
