Job Responsibilities:

Maintains high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possibleChecks daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders, ensuring every position is filled before start-up of production lineOversees team member morning exercises and job rotations to facilitate ergonomicsEnsures all machinery is performing to the highest standards possibleEnsures all workstations have passed USDA InspectionPromotes safety on a daily basis, including safety contacts, as well as through monthly safety meetingsEnsures accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of productsProvides leadership and guidance to team members regarding employment-related mattersEnsures team members receive necessary job training and development, including cross-training to perform in other roles when neededMonitors and approves work time and attendanceCommunicates and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and communicates regularly and as needed on plant initiativesOwns and demonstrates support for business decisionsMaintains a positive work environment and achieves retention/turnover goalsAddresses team member performance/conduct issues through coaching and the disciplinary process, as neededWorks with team members to identify and facilitate developmental opportunities for retention and career growthEnsures self and team members are accountable to job performance and demonstrating Tyson’s Code of Conduct expectations, including dignity and respect, and adherence to Tyson Food’s 5Cs.  Oversees various processing operations and works with other supervisors in solving problems, keeping records of reworked or returned product, and providing continuous education on the importance of quality and safetyPerforms other duties as assignedMust be able to travel (day or overnight) to offsite meetings via different modes of transportation (e.g., airplane, car), generally 1 – 3 times annually

 

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredSpecial training, vocational school, and/or college courses preferred2+ years of experience in food manufacturing6+ months of supervisory experience in a production environment, desirably in food manufacturing highly preferredAbility to become HACCP certified within 90 days of hire with Tyson (training provided by Tyson)3+ months of experience with inventory control methods preferredStrong computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry and analysis, and problem-solve.  Use of EIM Inventory Control and Plant View preferredMust have an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffingAbility to read and communicate production schedule and determine product specifications and informationAnalytical skills - ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized informationAbility to identify and correct conditions that affect team member safetyStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAccountable to self and to others – owns and demonstrates support for business decisionsStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughnessAbility to work professionally and respectfully with othersAbility to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies effectivelyGood math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divideMust function well under stressMust have flexibility to work where and when neededAbility to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, including weekends (Saturdays and occasional Sundays)Ability to climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, and work at elevated levelsAbility to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm (80-90°F) to cold (20-40°F), where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areasAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level  Ability to walk, bend, stoop, twist, stretch, push, pull, and reach above, across, below, and at shoulder levelAbility to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper)Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and glovesMust reside in the United States to be considered.No sponsorship available with this position.
