Job Summary:
\r\nProvides frontline leadership and management of line or area in a food processing facility ensuring standards are met in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
\r\n\r\nSupervises production team members providing guidance, training, direction, and feedback for optimum performance\r\nServes as a role model and initiates proactive actions to ensure team’s understanding of and compliance with all company policies and regulatory guidelines (including USDA, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, etc.)\r\nAccountable for team’s adherence to manufacturing protocols, product specifications, quality guidelines, safety standards\r\nEnsure effective use of labor, tools, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency and capacity\r\nConducts routine scanning of department to identify and solve problems (e.g. equipment operations, processes, etc.) or escalate as needed\r\nMaintains accurate and timely electronic / paper-based records of production data\r\nUpdates daily/weekly department reports (i.e. production reports, attendance reports, pre-flight check list, staffing reports, training reports)\r\nConducts routine safety and quality audits\r\nParticipates in investigations (e.g. accidents, employee complaints, etc.)\r\nActively participates in department / facility meetings\r\n\r\n\r\n
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
\r\n\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\r\nHighly skilled at motivating employees to accomplish objectives\r\nKnowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points), SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), SSOP (Standard Sanitary Operational Procedure) and requirements; or ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly\r\nFamiliar with operations metrics, such as yields, lbs. /birds per man hours (PMH), line speeds, etc.\r\n\r\n\r\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills at both the strategic and functional level\r\nStrong attention to detail\r\nBasic math skills (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages\r\n\r\n\r\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)\r\n\r\n\r\n
Additional Responsibilities:
\r\n\r\nPerform all other duties as necessary to ensure efficiency of operation.\r\n\r\n\r\n
Education & Experience:
\r\n\r\nBachelor of Science degree in Business, Poultry, Animal or Food Science or related field preferred\r\n3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role or have successfully completed Butterball’s Leadership Apprentice Program\r\nExperience in poultry/meat food manufacturing helpful\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
