Production Supervisor - Machine Shop

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing. Minimum of 2 years' experience in leading teams and or projects. Familiarity with 6S. ​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role in a machining or other manufacturing environment.

MUST be able to work any shift (Day Shift and Night Shift)

Job Summary:

The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for achieving short- and long-term goal objectives for Machining Operations.  This position is a multi-dimensional role that requires one to be tactical in producing our parts safely, maintaining high quality levels and low cost, while leading our team as the first line leader.

Essential Functions:

This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

Providing subject matter knowledge on machining principles related to cutting super alloys including feeds and speeds, programming, insert selection, tool holding, and proper use of various measuring devices/gauges, maintaining machine. Teaching operators to successfully achieve the skill level necessary to produce machined products that meet dimensional characteristics at the necessary productivity level to achieve financial cost targets. Building teams that consistently achieve daily production objectives: Throughput, Inventory, and Operating Expense; this entails utilizing cross training of Machinists, Inspectors, and Tool & Die Technicians to ensure team is well trained and flexible. Analyzing the production requirements for the Machining department to ensure both internal and external (outsourcing) options are available to meet short- and long-term requirements.   Maintaining 100%-part traceability in all areas of responsibility. Supporting compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies; this involves developing, tracking and maintaining production standards for safety, efficiencies, part quality, and housekeeping (5S). Performing general administrative duties such as timecards, absentee reporting, accident reports, personnel issues, disciplinary procedures, etc. Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. Supervises shift personnel and develops subordinates through mentoring, training and routine feedback. Assists with hiring of personnel and identifies human capital needs to management. Conducts hourly employee reviews based on job descriptions to measure competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians. Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.

Work Location/Environmental Requirements:

Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. Exposure to: moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration; loud noise level.
