ResponsibilitiesProduction Supervisor is responsible managing the resources of the shift to ensure all goals are achieved, including but not limited to safety, quality, production and cost.
Oversees training, evaluation and performance reviews of shift personnel. Performs administrative duties as required including maintaining employee attendance records, initiating personnel action forms, writing counseling forms, vacation requests and any other reports as needed.Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Helps to maintain the shift safety program to minimize accidents and injuries and to ensure a safe working environment. Must know blown film, troubleshooting, extruder drives, heaters and controls. Constantly follows quality and production and makes the necessary decisions to maintain maximum rates with high quality in an efficient time and manner. Coordinates with Maintenance for scheduled shutdowns and repairs in order to achieve the necessary maintenance work with the minimum operational losses. Inspects each line and checks the product is being run according to the specifications of the job; takes corrective action to resolve problems. Closes out production work orders and records production on a daily report. Forecast equipment for future orders.Reads work orders and check production reports on the lines.Verbally communicates with all Shift employees, Production Manager, Management Staff and Maintenance.Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Promote a Safe and Productive “TEAM” work environmentCompletes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.Ensure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the departmentCommunicate between shifts and departments to anticipate and prepare for any possible production concernsAccurately record daily production in the computer and submit various reports to the Production ManagerMaintain good employee relations by stimulating maximum efficiency and productivity of employees through good communication and regular performance reviewsProvide training as appropriate (i.e. tool box meetings, safety, etc.)Keep accurate records including training, production and other related activities.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assign work and provide technical assistance to meet production schedule and inventory requirementsPerform daily reviews/analysis to determine status against production goalsAbility to lead teams and committees and special projects as requiredDaily reporting of downtime, efficiency and production scrapMinimize scrap and maximize efficiency on each shiftPrepare for and monitor product changeovers, verify line clearances.Pack bottles to support packers at breaks/lunchesEnsure completion of daily and weekly preventive maintenance on shiftResponsible for identifying and reacting to various sounds and alarmsProvide appropriate and timely feedback on performanceAll other duties as assigned Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED.Must have three years of experience as a production supervisor or two years as a Berry Production Team Leader.Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience required.Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.Must be able to monitor quality of machine output.Capable of lifting (up to 50 pounds).Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives.Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.Must have good written and verbal communication skills.Present a positive and professional attitude at all times.Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written and leadership skills.Be punctual and maintain good attendance record.Uses good judgment.Is able to adapt to changes in the work environment.Able to define problems and seek out appropriate help for resolution.Able to coordinate multiple tasks.
