Responsibilities

Overview: This position is responsible for the production supervision of assigned department and team members.  Review team assignments in the form of schedules and output targets and determine how to use resources to meet demand. Support an environment of continuous improvement to production processes that result in advances in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and reduced costs.  Support production employees in continual improvement by acting as a resource in applying and ultimately teaching problem solving skills and meeting facilitation skills by using established management control and production communication tools.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

Identifies daily production challenges and find solutions to prevent reoccurrence and meet production schedulesServes as a link between associates and management and support associates through changesAssists in developing and monitoring standardized work for direct reports Audits or assigns audit duties for key result areasHolds daily cell meeting and set expectations for the dayMonitors production status hourly, remove bottlenecks and take corrective measures to ensure daily goals are metOversees continuous flow and materials delivery systems and work with associates to continuously improve the processReviews production schedules and estimate associate hours to complete a job assignmentInterprets specifications and job orders for associates and delegate dutiesRecommends measures and changes to improve production, equipment, product quality and working conditionsInitiates and/or suggests plans to motivate and enforce safety rulesDesign and implement a plan to provide cross-training to production employees that maximize their value to the team.Support Lean lines in collaborative, autonomous decision making to facilitate the team’s self-directed improvements.Support the daily activities of the production lines according to the team’s production schedule and apply the necessary adjustments when needed according to current issues.Supervise production employees according to company policies including attendance, e-time, security, safety, corrective action, performance appraisals, etc.Collaborate with production manager on production goal setting.Support the production team’s daily activities in accordance to our defined ISO procedures and modify these procedures based on process improvement made by the production teams.
