Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Responsible for the supervision of department personnel while maintaining positive employee relations and motivation.  Will interact cooperatively in a spirit of teamwork with Management and co-workers to provide excellent customer service and ensure product quality.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Supervises consistently and fairly all department employees in adherence to the terms of the union contract, plant and safety rules, and all Company policies. Directs department employees with positive motivation to produce a quality product in an efficient manner.Prepares daily work assignments for production employees and schedules the workflow accordingly to ensure that orders are shipped on time.Partners with support staff when manufacturing issues arise.Directs personnel on start up of new jobs and ensures that special instructions, packing and quality control requirements are understood and followed.Ensures all personnel are trained on machine functions and trouble shooting with the objective to minimize job assistance from setup personnel.Works with Quality Assurance to ensure quality of all products produced.  Develops corrective actions as needed.Initiates corrective action as needed to ensure efficient manufacturing methods with particular review of daily machine performance to standard.Conveys pertinent information to personnel on all shifts so production continues to flow smoothly and efficiently.Performs formal written employee evaluations on a timely basis under direction of Human Resources Department.Requisitions indirect supplies needed for employees for regular production of jobs within the department.Provides leadership promoting teamwork and positive relations among all contacts by setting positive examples to their staff.Strives to meet the goals of the company while balancing the needs of departmental personnel.Monitors high scrap jobs through scrap focus programs.Responsible for departmental safety:  guides and promotes safe work performance; conducts safety training, and audits; encourages hazardidentification; conducts accident reporting and investigation; and enforces safety regulations, methods, and PPE required in departmentResponsible for fostering and promoting the development of Human Capital.Participates in and leads process improvement projects and initiatives to standardize and continuously improve processes.

WHAT WE VALUE

Ability to perform diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Able to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel.Knowledge of thermoforming process, quality control principles, die cutting and mold making preferred.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

Three (3) to five (5) years Lead/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.Must participate in further academic improvement or career development.
