You Are:
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Support Engineer with expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and database management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing data pipelines, performance tuning, incident management, and providing operational support for both database and application systems. You will be responsible for the creation, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex ETL workflows, dashboards, and reporting systems in a fast-paced production environment.
The Opportunity:
· Create, update, and maintain Tableau dashboards to meet client reporting needs, ensuring that the data is accurate, insightful, and easily understandable.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and continuously enhance dashboards based on feedback.
· Develop ETL stored procedures for incremental data loading, ensuring data is efficiently processed from source systems to staging (STG) areas.
· Design and implement Informatica jobs to load data from source systems into target data warehouses or staging areas.
· Implement real-time ETL processes using PowerExchange for seamless data integration and immediate data availability.
· Perform performance tuning on SQL queries and Informatica ETL loads to ensure high-performance data processing and minimize resource consumption.
· Monitor daily ETL runs and apply indexes and partitions to improve query and data load performance.
· Continuously monitor data processing jobs, ensuring optimal performance and immediate troubleshooting of any failures or bottlenecks.
· Analyze and optimize system performance for all SQL queries, ETL jobs, and data processes, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently in production.
· Support deployments and post-production validation, ensuring that all new releases or updates are correctly applied and validated in the production environment.
· Handle incident management, including resolving failures, performing root cause analysis, and applying fixes promptly.
· Manage communications and broadcasts for planned and unplanned maintenance, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of system changes or outages.
· Kill processes/SPIDs when necessary to resolve deadlocks or system bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime and a smooth system operation.
· Provide developer design support for creating scalable, efficient ETL pipelines and integrations.
· Oversee release management, ensuring that code and configuration changes are applied efficiently and without causing disruptions.
· Perform data quality checks, research and analyze any discrepancies, gaps, or data quality issues.
· Run data quality scripts to identify and resolve data gaps, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data being processed and reported.
· Create and refine Tidal jobs for data loading, ensuring that jobs are scheduled properly and executed as planned.
· Continuously improve job scheduling and orchestration processes, ensuring that all jobs are optimized and run in accordance with SLAs.

What You Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
· 4+ years of experience in production support, specifically supporting data pipelines, ETL processes, and database systems.
· Hands-on experience with key ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Tableau, demonstrating proficiency in developing, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and dashboards.
· Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server & T-SQL, including performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting of SQL-based systems.
· Experience with cloud databases such as Azure, Oracle Exadata, and knowledge of cloud database platforms.
· Proficiency in database management systems, including Oracle PL/SQL, Teradata, and Netezza, with the ability to perform database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and query optimization.
· Experience with data integration technologies, including PowerExchange for real-time ETL processes, Tidal job scheduling, and Oracle SQL Developer for development and support.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote
Compensation Range: $81,000-$123,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
