You Are:

We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to join our team and provide critical support for the Vendor Lifecycle Management (VLM) platform. This position involves ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of production environments by providing technical support for data integration processes, database management, and troubleshooting issues related to Informatica, SQL, Oracle, and Teradata systems.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Informatica workflows for data processing and integration within the VLM platform.

·       Ensure seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes between SQL, Oracle, and Teradata environments.

·       Perform SQL query optimization, data validation, and integrity checks to ensure accurate reporting and analytics.

·       Support Teradata database operations, including performance tuning and managing large datasets.

·       Identify, analyze, and resolve production incidents and performance issues related to VLM.

·       Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.

·       Proactively monitor system health, database performance, and ETL workflows to prevent disruptions.

·       Manage scheduled jobs and scripts for daily and periodic data processing tasks.

·       Work closely with business users to gather requirements and address concerns.

·       Collaborate with development teams to implement enhancements and fixes.

·       Maintain updated documentation for workflows, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

·       Share insights and resolutions with team members to enhance collective knowledge.

What You Need:

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

·       4+ years of experience in production support, including managing on-premise and cloud-based systems.

·       Strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica PowerExchange (PWX) for ETL processes.

·       Proficiency in SQL, with expertise in Oracle and Teradata for troubleshooting, data manipulation, and query optimization.

·       Experience in data integration and managing data flows between databases, including data migration and transformation tasks.

·       In-depth understanding of database management systems such as Teradata, Oracle, and SQL Server.

·       Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot production environments, with a focus on maintaining database integrity and performance.

·       Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or similar, for real-time monitoring of workflows, jobs, and system health.

·       Solid troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to analyze logs, debug issues, and implement solutions quickly.

·       Knowledge of incident management processes using tools like ServiceNow (SNOW) for ticketing, change management, and escalation procedures.

·       Ability to perform database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

·       Proficiency in using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and process improvement.

·       Experience working with business teams to identify requirements, troubleshoot production issues, and provide efficient solutions.

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Virginia

Compensation Range: $81,000-$123,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
