You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Support Engineer to join our team, specializing in supporting ODW Datamarts. This role will involve managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting ETL processes, data loads, and performance issues within the ODW Datamarts environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Informatica, SQL, Oracle, and Teradata, along with a deep understanding of data integration, data quality, and database performance tuning. This role requires working with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flows and high-quality data for reporting and analytics purposes.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Provide support for all Operational Data Warehouse (ODW) Datamarts, ensuring that the data is accurately and efficiently processed, transformed, and loaded (ETL) into the respective datamarts.

·       Monitor and support Informatica ETL jobs to ensure smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Investigate and resolve issues related to data integration, processing, and quality.

·       Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries for performance, ensuring that data retrieval and processing within ODW Datamarts are efficient and meet business needs.

·       Provide support for Oracle, Teradata, and other database systems related to the ODW. Ensure that databases are maintained, backed up, and are running optimally.

·       Identify, analyze, and resolve issues with data loads, processing errors, and performance bottlenecks across the ODW Datamarts.

·       Collaborate with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.

·       Ensure the quality and accuracy of data being loaded into ODW Datamarts by performing quality checks, running validation scripts, and ensuring compliance with business rules and standards.

·       Assist in the deployment of changes and enhancements to the ODW Datamarts.

·       Work closely with development teams to support migration and production deployment efforts.

·       Maintain documentation for all ODW Datamart configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

·       Provide regular reports on data load statuses, system performance, and issue resolutions.

·       Collaborate with business analysts and users to understand data requirements, ensuring that the ODW Datamarts meet business needs and provide accurate insights for decision-making.

·       Continuously monitor the performance of the ODW Datamarts and optimize database configurations, queries, and ETL processes to improve response times and reduce system downtime.

·       Participate in incident management and problem resolution processes for production support of the ODW Datamarts, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved within agreed SLAs.

·       Assess system capacity and performance requirements, ensuring that ODW Datamarts are scalable to accommodate increasing data volumes and user demands.

What You Need:

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

·       4+ years of experience in production support, specifically with ODW Datamarts, and expertise in managing ETL processes, data integration, and data warehouse systems.

·       Strong experience with Informatica for ETL job creation and management, including the optimization and troubleshooting of ETL processes.

·       Expertise in SQL for writing and optimizing queries to support data retrieval and performance tuning in ODW Datamarts.

·       Hands-on experience with Oracle, Teradata, and other database technologies, including Oracle PL/SQL, for data management, troubleshooting, and optimization within the ODW Datamarts.

·       Proficiency in performance tuning, including the use of SQL optimization techniques, indexes, partitions, and query tuning to enhance data warehouse performance.

·       Demonstrated ability to resolve data integration and performance issues within ODW Datamarts, including troubleshooting data load failures, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies.

·       Experience with data quality assurance processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data being loaded into the ODW Datamarts.

·       Strong understanding of database architecture, including data modeling, and the ability to contribute to database design and optimization.

·       Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Sentinel Web dashboard, to track the performance and status of ETL processes and ODW Datamarts.

·       Knowledge of job scheduling and automation tools such as Tidal for managing ETL jobs, ensuring data loads occur in a timely and efficient manner.

·       Experience with Incident Management and Problem Management, including using tools like ServiceNow (SNOW) to resolve production issues in a timely manner

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Virginia

Compensation Range: $81,000-$123,000

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
