Production Team Lead 2nd Shift M-Th. 10 hr Shift

The Belk production team lead associates are cross-trained to be responsible for the receiving/put-away, picking/pulling, packing and shipping of merchandise. A Team Lead is a working leader. She/he performs tasks in the production path (in terms of nature and level) as needed. In addition, she/he has responsibility for assisting the supervisor guiding people and executing processes.

• Lead team to achieve goals and expectations set up by Supervisors and Managers

• Support team onboarding and learning by acting as point person for training the team to execute successful processes and process improvements for distribution center operations.

• Assign tasks within the work assignment. Engage and inspire a diverse group of people to deliver results by assigning tasks within the work area/assignment

• Review work (deadlines and quality)

• Provide input on performance to Supervisor

• Ensure associates are working safely and complying with safety guidelines on a daily basis during their work routines

• Ability to cross train in all production departments

• Follow any job related instructions as requested by department supervisors, managers and the director of the facility

• Exceptional customer service commitment

• Pull proper SKU per customer order through WM RF scanning.

• Locate and pull orders using optimal pick paths

• Make appropriate adjustments to orders if needed

• Place items in proper pick tote

• Transport items to pack station in a quick, safe manner

• Keep walk areas and department clean

• Team Leads in the Dock department will require the below additional responsibilities:

Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs. Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily involving loaded and empty containers. Drive and operate vehicle under 15 mph in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area. Timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.

Minimum Education & Experience:

• High School diploma and/or equivalent years of experience

• Data entry experience on a Windows based or AS/400 operating system

• Shipping experience via 3rd party delivery, (UPS, FEDEX)

• Driver Team Lead must pass electric cart, walkie, and forklift certification per OSHA standard

• Dock Team Lead must have the following: valid drivers' license, safe truck & trailer operating skills, and good interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Education & Experience:

• 2 or more years of applicable experience

• Specific work or project experience: Receiving or inbound operations; supervising employees tasked with basic production/operational duties; experience with PKMS Warehouse Management System

• Industry experience: Manufacturing, Warehouse, Logistics, Parcel/Shipping

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English

• Good math skills

• Effective time management in order to meet dynamic goals and deadlines

• Operate standard business equipment, including PC, phone, calculator, etc.

• Operate handheld scanner and associated equipment

• Operate specialized computer hardware and software including (but not limited to) Warehouse Management System, Item Database, Yard Management System, etc.

• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Ability to read and understand policies/procedures and communicate them to employees

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis, lift above shoulder level and be able to reach all areas of the facility.

• Must be able to pass certification on material handling equipment and operate equipment safely without causing damage to company property or others.

• Must be able to perform the following physical duties during entire shift that will vary up to 12 hours per day to include: prolonged standing, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, pushing carts over 300 pounds and walking. This job requires visual acuity, ability to speak and hear, manual dexterity, and ability to climb ladders.

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
