Job Description
EBAD is seeking a Production Team Lead with experience working in a manufacturing environment to support production in the Energetics Assemblies value stream. This position is located in Simsbury, CT and will report to the Production Supervisor.
General Summary:
The Team Lead is a working position and is required to work alongside their team members while also organizing daily work, ensuring effective communication between the manufacturing floor, supervision, and engineering, and providing technical expertise, training, and manufacturing issue resolution. The Team Lead will be responsible for the overall manufacturing process in their assigned area as well as enabling and monitoring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. They will assist the Production Supervisor in the ongoing training and development of team members.
The Team Lead sets an example for their technician team members and supports the Production Supervisor with cultivating a highly functioning team.
Responsibilities:Meet all responsibilities and expectations of a Technician within the Energetics Assemblies value streamMaintain complete understanding of production procedures, processes, and all relevant manufacturing documents and drawings to ensure all products meet specifications.Lead, guide, motivate and communicate with team members professionally and competentlyProvide job specific training and assist Production Supervisor in implementing training programs to cultivate a high performing teamAssign work to technicians within specific areasMaintain Daily Plan on Visual Boards including daily progressAssist Production Supervisor ensuring flows in accordance with Standard WorkSchedule and facilitate daily meetings with technicians to review work and ensure understandingEnsure there is adequate technician coverage and coordinate employee absences with Production SupervisorCountermeasure upset conditions and escalate when requiredBe the first to act when manufacturing personnel identify upset conditionsMonitor and respond to Andon processEnsure that all required paperwork is present when required and is being completed and used according to appropriate MI and Router.Review documentation daily to ensure processes were followed and data is recorded correctlyProvide feedback to the Production Supervisor on attendance, performance, productivity and teamwork of team members.Communicate any performance, safety and/or quality concerns to Production SupervisorEnsure that all safety related concerns are communicated and addressed in a real time basis.Support Production Supervisor in maintenance of 5S program and cultureEnsure all team members’ areas are clean and organized at all timesRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 3 years manufacturing related experience with ability to use and read accurately various measuring instruments.Ability to perform fine mechanical assembly and electrical testingExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management.Preferred skills:Aerospace and Defense industry experience including working knowledge of company product linesCurrent or Previous J-STD-001 CertificationExperience with MS Office, specifically ExcelPhysical Demands:Appropriate safety equipment as required by area. Some of the test and manufacturing areas include exposure to noise and may require hearing protection. Safety training in the handling of pyrotechnic materials is required. The physical activities of this position include work lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, repetitive motions, stooping, balancing, pushing, pulling, coordinating, talking and hearing.
