Job Overview:

Linde U.S. Gases Division is currently seeking a Production Technician in Hopewell, VA. The Production Technician will be responsible for a safe, reliable, and efficiently operating a Liquid Carbon Dioxide Plant. The position will require a strong focus on Maintenance and instrumentation. The role will include but not limited to performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations, and installations.

The candidate must have demonstrated ability to work across departmental lines. Must be willing and have the ability to interpret manufacturers' manuals and apply hands-on skills in repairing certain mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting Electrical Schematics, PID's, and One Line DiagramsPerform calibration of analyzers, field instrumentation Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Projects)Monitors process performance and makes appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified normal operationOperates units to continuously supply products in quantities and qualities safely and economically, complying with all environmental regulations, quality standards and daily customer requirementsSafely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, valves, and the ability to perform equipment alignments.Assist in Truck Loading and troubleshooting loading issues as needed.Loading of Rail Cars during normal schedule and non-scheduled times, including weekends.Responsibilities/duties are typically focused but non-routine at this level. This position will also require working outdoors in various weather conditions and working shifts, rotating shifts and weekends if needed, along with call-ins, will involve some overnight travel for training and working at other locations if required.This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Employee will be required to work in different weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts, and crane baskets.

The job will require the employee to be on rotating call during the allotted schedule time and cover vacations. During scheduled rotating call, the employee will be required to cover the plant operation during off hours, come in on the weekends to check plant out, load rail cars if needed, be present for customer and competitor pickups.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.5 or more years Production Operations experience in an industrial environment.Proficiency with a variety of I/E hand tools meters, instrument calibration equipment Strong working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, motors, processing and cooling equipment.
