Production Technician
Job Title: Production Technician Job Description This position is a 1-2 month contract with potential for extension. The Production Technician will work on a new production line, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations to process raw materials. Responsibilities + Gown up in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow SOPs under GMP regulations. + Work with freeze dryers, including sanitizing, washing, scrubbing, drying, and filling trays. + Feed bottles into the machine, mix chemicals and raw materials, measure and weigh materials. + Perform formulation chemistry and mix chemicals together. + Conduct manual labor tasks including capping, visual inspections, quality control checks, and labeling. + Follow batch records to make formulations according to GDP, FDA, and GMP standards. + Participate in hands-on training with equipment. + Run freeze dryers and handle products ranging from probiotics to wound dressings. + Load and unload documents, perform sanitation tasks, and clean rooms and dryers thoroughly. + Handle cleaning agents, foaming agents, and sanitizers. + Perform packaging, filling batch records, and general production tasks. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED. + 1+ years of experience in a regulated environment (GMP). + 1+ years of production experience in a clean room environment. + Understanding of SOPs and the importance of quality control. + Basic lab testing skills including moisture, weight, and hardness testing. + Mechanical aptitude to operate machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience gowning up in proper PPE. + Basic chemistry knowledge to mix molecular components together. + Ability to perform basic math calculations (decimals, addition, subtraction). Work Environment The facility operates on two shifts: 1st shift (M-F 7am-3:30pm) and 2nd shift (M-F 2pm-10:30pm). The team size includes 7 people on first shift including supervisors/leads, and 3 on second shift. The facility is temperature controlled with office areas at 70 degrees, hallways at 65-75 degrees, freezers as low as -37 degrees, and the warehouse at 50-60 degrees. The environment is well-lit with no overbearing smells. Gowning up is required only in specific regulated sections, whereas the lab and production facility only require hair and beard nets.
