Production Technician
**Job Title: Production Technician** **Job Description** Troubleshoots truck-related problems associated with the mechanical/electrical functions, programs software, and sets parameters for various forklifts and warehouse trucks. Performs mechanical and electrical functions to all types of trucks to satisfy customer requirements. This position requires close coordination with Industrial Engineering related to process improvements and continuous improvement efforts within all aspects of the Value Stream. **Responsibilities** + Serve as the primary focal point for manufacturing operations regarding engineering and technical-related issues. + Act as the liaison between the Engineering lab, R&D Engineering, and Operations. + Translate and coordinate SQRs and ECs for any given product type. + Work directly with the Rework Department within operations or Supplier Quality to assist with rework requirements on controllers, software, wire harnesses, ID systems, or other third-party software. + Provide technical assistance and drawing interpretation to manufacturing operations related to electrical systems. + Work with hardware and software related to the electrical systems of truck operations, such as 'flash' controllers with software and change parameter settings for various functions of a forklift. + Handle Industrial Engineering related issues, such as work instruction improvements and time studies. + Be directly involved in eliminating waste within the Value Stream. + Serve as the primary resource for CI efforts associated with the Value Stream. + Take an active role in cross-training within the assembly areas. + Coordinate SAP routings. + Troubleshoot smart systems such as Linde Connect on all material handling equipment. + Work in a team environment by providing corrective actions and continuous improvement ideas, especially cost savings. + Understand Lean Principles and 6S concepts. + Investigate and troubleshoot electrical systems on forklifts and other facilities-related equipment within Operations (fans, motors, air compressors, Atlas-Copco Torque tools). + Communicate revisions or new releases to team leads or supervisors. + Examine and diagnose electrical schematics or drawings. + Use and understand diagnostic-related programs (Pathfinder, etc.) to troubleshoot equipment. + Handle and understand test equipment such as multimeters, voltage, and current readings. + Develop a fundamental knowledge of various industrial truck and equipment standards, including ANSI, UL, and internal company engineering standards. + Analyze and provide written disposition of production discrepancies relating to engineering. + Support other operations as workload requirements dictate. **Essential Skills** + Familiarity with and working knowledge of computers and the entire Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). + Preferred automobile or truck mechanic experience. + Knowledge of the use and application of multimeters, various test equipment, handsets, and PCs during troubleshooting operations. + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language. + Ability to travel to suppliers or customer sites to instruct or correct electrical/software issues. + Familiarity with hand and power tools. + Flexibility to work flexible hours and overtime on short notice. + Ability to operate a crane and forklift safely. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent and/or AS degree in an engineering-related electrical field. + 3-5 years of manufacturing experience. + 2-4 years of experience in the electrical trade or electrical experience in manufacturing is preferred. + PLC trade school or PLC related training/experience is preferred. + Skills in hydraulics, DC voltage, automotive service, forklift repair, diagnosis, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and lean manufacturing. + Self-starter with minimal supervision. + Experience working with Industrial Engineering teams and assembly line leads. + Capability in engineering changes and work instruction creation/updates. + Documenting current repairs and fixes to assembly issues systematically. **Why Work Here?** We offer a sign-on bonus after 6 months and another after 12 months.
