Job Description

Position Summary:

All operations are conducted with an emphasis on safety and within the guidelines and requirements of ISO and 5-S / Lean production environments. 

The primary goal of this position is to produce high-quality products while meeting the established production schedule safely and efficiently for catalog and bulk/custom orders to achieve production goals relative to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

           

Key Responsibilities:  
•    On Time completion of weekly production work orders
•    Process documentation is maintained in the form of batch record sheets, reports and lab
     notebooks and the technician must contribute to and foster the development of a healthy
     cooperative environment
•    Management of raw materials and inventory in a Kanban system
•    Work within our MRP system to issue materials to work orders, perform from-stock and
      return-to-stock transactions
•    Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a respirator (when required)
•    Documenting the critical aspects of each production run
•    Use of pipettes and proper pipetting techniques (single channel and multi-channel pipettes)
•    Use of scales/balances to measure accurate amounts of raw materials
•    Completing metrology work orders on time when assigned

Maintain work areas to 5S standardsOther duties include cleaning, involvement in process development, assistance in other work cells when needed

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

High School diploma or GEDAbility to work safely with various chemicals, and reagentsAbility to read and accurately follow Batch Record Sheets (BRSs) and Standard Operation ProceduresBasic mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of the metric system, unit conversions and basic calculationsAccurate reporting of data and labor time to work orders and in laboratory notebooksPunctual and dependable, consistently arriving to work on time and ready to workFlexible work schedule when requiredGood interpersonal skills for working effectively in a team environmentAbility to routinely lift 40-50 lbs.Associates in this position will as part of their job activities generate or manage hazardous waste as defined by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Individuals in this position are required to receive initial hazardous waste training within the first 30 working days of assignment The initial waste training shall include but not be limited to the following general categories: identifying hazardous and solid waste, hazardous waste management, recycling, treatment and disposal, emergency preparedness and record keeping and pollution prevention and waste reduction Following initial training the Associate in this position will receive annual refresher training in the same topic field as listed aboveStrong organizational skillsA desire to identify and implement continuous improvements
