Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Technician I responsible for washing and autoclaving glassware and assisting with the production of components and kits. This role involves working with cell culture, formulations, molecular diagnostics, and slide production. The technician will handle various equipment and perform essential lab maintenance and inventory tasks.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the washing glassware and production of components and kits.Perform cell culture, formulations, molecular diagnostics, and slide production.Wash and autoclave glassware one day a week.Operate equipment such as analytical balances, pH meters, electrical mixers, filtration apparatus, and ELISA plate dispensing units.Perform lab maintenance as per documented cleaning requirements.Maintain inventory; replenish raw materials and supplies as needed.Ensure proper storage of raw materials, subassemblies, components, and kits.Operate and maintain equipment according to documented procedures, including calibration.Maintain product identification and traceability as per SOP.Record data in accordance with GDP and SOP.Identify non-conformance and initiate required documentation, such as NCMR or deviation reports.Assist in work order closure and manufacturing specification review.Essential SkillsExperience with cell culture, FDA and ISO regulatory requirements.Knowledge of GMP, molecular biology, and aseptic techniques.Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.Effective communication skills for speaking before groups of customers or employees.Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.Problem-solving skills to handle practical problems with concrete variables.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma with 1-3 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field with 1 year of experience in a GMP environment.No certifications or licenses required.Work Environment
The role is based in a lab environment where the employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate. The working schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 12:15pm and from 12:45pm to 5:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Flexibility is required as weekend work (typically 6-hour days) and extended hours may be needed occasionally.
