Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate Production Technician IV to join our powertrain and electronics team and help build flight-critical components for our VTOL electric aircraft. Responsibilities Adhere to Joby’s safety procedures and protocol. Build a variety of complex early-phase pilot and production aircraft parts. Assemble data for the aircraft parts in our manufacturing execution system (MES). Learn and then apply skills through on-the-job (OTJ) training. Conduct on-the-job (OJT) training to train other production technicians. Work independently once tasks are assigned, and be flexible with priorities provided daily. Maintain cleanliness in the work area using manufacturing 5S best practices. Be able to follow instructions and think critically. Run trials for new products and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional people to ensure we meet our shared goals as a team. Provide feedback and document issues found during manufacturing to drive solutions and process improvements. Participate in the validation of new processes. Teardown parts when rework or repair is necessary. Participate in the investigation of quality defects and test failures. Required Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work. Motivated to support the company’s mission. Able to be trained on documented procedures for complex manufacturing, then follow these procedures to successfully manufacture parts. Strong work ethic. Able to adapt to sudden changes in daily priorities. Team oriented attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks according to daily plans. Able to lift 25-35 lbs twice per hour and perform repetitive tasks. Desired Previous experience working in early-phase pilot and production of complex parts.Understanding of bills of material (BOM) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).Experience being a trainee and/or trainer in on-the-job (OTJ) training.Experience with light industrial environments.Experience working on high-voltage systems and/or complex electromechanical systems.Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.Experience writing and following manufacturing procedures.Proficiency with machining, welding, and overall mechanical craftsmanship is a plus.Experience in basic wiring and diagnostics.Experience with mechanical component assembly and systems integration of mechanical systems.IPC J-STD, 610 certification.Atlassian Jira, First Resonance Ion experience.Experience in lean manufacturing. The target base pay for this position is $31-$35 per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
