Production Technician

Armstrong World Industries. with over 90 years experience in Pensacola has immediate openings in Production Technician positions. This facility manufactures and distributes acoustical ceilings for commercial and residential installations in the United States and overseas.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

Safe and effective setup and operation of manufacturing equipment. Know how and where to find process specifications and procedures and adhere to them. Demonstrate and insist upon accuracy in all reporting measure product quality, mobile equipment operation, product inspection, product packaging, scrap material reclamation. Maintain a skill level of the operation and a knowledge on equipment operation and product quality that allow for the assisting of setting up all aspects of the operation during start ups and change overs Maintain housekeeping at a level of excellence at all times in work areas. Demonstrate and insist upon accuracy in all reporting. Recognize product quality and help diagnose problems. Follow all safety rules and insist that all employees associated with the operation do the same. Perform miscellaneous duties as required or requested.

 

Requirements of the position include:

High School diploma or GED Pre-screen  interview Submit to a skill level evaluation Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends Ability to communicate and effectively work with others

About the location (Pensacola FL)

Our Pensacola Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide. The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.  

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle. Pensacola is a seaport on Pensacola Bay, which is protected by 52 miles of sugar white barrier islands on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of the city and is the home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags", due to the five governments that have ruled it during its history. Other nicknames include "World's Whitest Beaches" (due to the white sand of Florida panhandle beaches), "Cradle of Naval Aviation", "Western Gate to the Sunshine State", "America's First Settlement", "Emerald Coast" and "Red Snapper Capital of the World".
